Integrated Pest Management
Job Description:
This position is a full-time position that will identify and remove yield-limiting threats such as insects, diseases, and weeds. The IPM Scout will maintain biosecurity and food safety measures.

Duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Inspect and monitor plants for pests, diseases, or damage
  • Apply preventative measures and control measures; document actions taken
  • Distinguish between different species of pests and diseases and report to Grower/Management in a timely manner
  • Apply biologicals when necessary
  • Comply with all Health & Safety and SOP procedures and policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and crouch throughout the day
  • Experience in greenhouse or production facility an asset
  • Comfortable working in heat and at heights

Education & Experience:
  • 1 year scouting experience preferred
  • High school diploma required

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Labour Manager
Job Description:
This position is a full-time position that will supervise greenhouse employees to ensure crop work is completed properly and in accordance with SOPs and biosecurity measures.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Assist with greenhouse staff training
  • Train and supervise staff in planting, picking, and pruning of pepper plants as well as general cleaning and food safety procedures
  • Oversee and monitor the labour tracking system for the greenhouse; verifying accuracy
  • Ensure that all functions conform to all Food Safety, Quality management System, and Health and Safety requirements
  • Supervise and assist with growing and other crop related activities
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Exceptional People Management skills and ability to lead a team of 30+ employees
  • Good problem solving, dispute resolution, time management, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge and adaptability with various computer programs (word, Excel, Gmail, etc.)
  • Able to stand on feet for extended period of time
  • Comfortable working in heat and at heights
Education & Experience:
  • 1 year supervisor experience required
  • High school diploma required
  • Ability to speak Spanish considered an asset
